Meet Our Team

As the founder of Bender Private Wealth Management, Bill has been helping successful families, small businesses, and institutions manage their wealth since 1984. Bill is the team's lead strategist and also focuses on institutional investment consulting. He is qualified to help institutional clients and ultra-high-net-worth individuals with a broad range of services. Bill holds a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He also holds a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation.

Bill earned his bachelor's degree in business from Keystone College, where he was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters after giving the commencement address in 2013. He formerly served as chairman of the board at both Keystone College and the Lackawanna County Red Cross. He is a former board member of St. Joseph's Children's Center, Jewish Family Services, WVIA, and the Scranton Cultural Center, as well as a former president of Scranton Tomorrow. A lifelong resident of Scranton, Bill and his wife, Maureen, have five children and 16 grandchildren. He enjoys golf and is a member of Glenmaura Golf Club and Scranton Canoe Club, rooting for the Phillies, and spending time with his family.

As a Wealth Management Advisor with over 15 years of experience, Bill is dedicated to providing customized financial solutions for individual, families, businesses and institutions. His education, experience and ability to collaborate with his partners from Bender Private Wealth Management enables him to provide comprehensive guidance and support for their clients.

After attending Scranton Preparatory School (01) and then Fairfield University with a B.S. in Finance (05), Bill began his career as Wealth Management Advisor in 2005. Throughout his career he has earned many industry designations. These designations signify Bill's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and education. After 15 years advising diverse clientele, Bill realized how vastly underserved our industry is in the areas Business Succession, Business Structuring and most notability specialized Estate Planning Strategies. To improve his abilities in these areas, in 2020 he enrolled in the Master of Taxation (MT) Program through The Charles Widger School of Law at Villanova University. He successfully completed my MT with a concentration certificate in Estate Planning in September 2022.

Personally, Bill lives in Scranton, PA with his wife Christin and their 3 children. He is fortunate to be surrounded by nearly all of his family, many friends and live in a community he loves. Bill has served on many local boards and is the past president of St. Joseph’s Center Foundation (‘21&’22). He is currently a member of the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Advisory Council.

Bill believes the only constant in life is change. As such, he works every day to be prepared to advise his clients, his family or anyone in need of help to make prudent and responsible decisions for the near and long term.

Dustin is an accomplished wealth management advisor with experience in finance. After graduating from Scranton Preparatory School, he attended Saint Joseph's University Haub School of Business where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance. He further pursued his education at Villanova University's Charles Widger School of Law, where he earned his Masters of Taxation with an Estate Planning Certification. He has also completed certification courses at prestigious institutions such as UCLA Anderson School of Management and the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania. Dustin is passionate about building strong and lasting relationships with his clients. He believes that trust and open communication are essential in providing the best possible advice and guidance. He works closely with high net worth families, business owners and institutions developing realistic and comprehensive financial plans.

Dustin is also committed to giving back to the community. He is a past board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania and is actively involved in his family’s foundation which helps various 501©3 organizations. Dustin enjoys spending time with his wife and their 4 kids, playing and watching sports and spending time outdoors at his family's farm.

Brian Corbett, First Vice President, brings 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. Since 2006, Brian has dedicated his career to helping clients achieve their financial goals. He enjoys ensuring his team provides the best service possible and staying up-to-date with the financial markets. His favorite aspect of the job is managing client portfolios to align with their objectives and goals.

Brian's professional journey has taken him from Philadelphia, PA, to his current home in Scranton, PA. Throughout his career, he has worked with prestigious firms such as Merrill Lynch, Oppenheimer & Co., and Wells Fargo Advisors and currently Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Moira Corbett, and their family, including many nieces and nephews. He loves traveling, with favorite activities including summertime trips to the shore and winter ski trips. Brian is also an avid golfer, often hitting the greens in his free time.

Melissa has been working as a Financial Advisor since 2006, using an individualized approach to goals-based wealth management and handling the team’s business management. Melissa helps clients to achieve their financial goals and gives them the knowledge and confidence that they need to feel comfortable with the financial decisions that they make at every step of their lives. 

She is a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton. Melissa went on to complete a professional study regimen and holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. She also holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®), and the Certified 401(k) Professional (C(k)P®).

A lifelong resident of Scranton, Melissa lives there with her husband, Chris, and their six children. She was a former director on the board for the Wright Center for Community Health, as well as the Community Health Hub board. In Melissa's free time, she enjoys watching her kids play sports, watching live music, and travelling the country with her family.

Kevin joined the financial services industry in 2013. Kevin received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Temple University in Philadelphia, where he was enrolled in the Fox School of Business Honors Program. Kevin holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation. Kevin enjoys reading books, walking his dog (Edison), and being outside in nature. He is an avid birdwatcher, passionate Phish fan & diehard Philly sports fan.

A proud graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, Kevin resides in the Minooka section of Scranton, PA.

Thomas J. Schatzman is Senior Vice President and Senior Institutional Consultant at the 1856 Capital Partners, of Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. As a Senior Institutional Consultant with over 30 years of experience, Tom is dedicated to providing customized financial solutions for institutions, businesses and families. 

From 1992 to 2022, Tom was an Institutional Consulting Director at Graystone Consulting, a Morgan Stanley business. His team consulted to $18 billion in assets (as of January 2022), focusing on non-profit organizations and corporate pension plan clients. Tom advises organizations on investment policy development, investment manager selection, asset allocation, asset-liability analyses, and fee reduction while working in a fiduciary capacity.

Tom has been widely recognized throughout the industry, being named one of the Top 50 institutional consultants in the United States by Barron's magazine (2015 inaugural list, 2016-2022) and a Top 100 retirement plan advisor by Plan Sponsor Magazine (2016-2019).

In 2021, Barron's ranked Tom's team as the # 1 consulting team in Pennsylvania and #14 in the United States.

His former clients include Fortune 100 companies, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and national Taft-Hartley clients.

From 2022-2023, Tom was Managing Director and Head of Institutional Consulting at Wedbush Securities in Los Angeles. His responsibilities included:

Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of consulting services to over 300 financial advisors.
Devising and executing strategies to identify new opportunities, markets, and clients and leading and coaching financial advisor teams.
Education - BS in Economics, MBA in Finance and Investments, George Washington University.

With over 40 years in the financial services industry, Ann brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her role as Senior Vice President. Ann's journey began right out of college, the University of Scranton, in 1983 when she joined Moseley. In 1988, Moseley was acquired by AG Edwards, where Ann continued to excel until 2003. She then joined Wachovia Securities, which later became Wells Fargo Advisors.

Ann's passion for her job is evident in her commitment to working with clients and their families. She finds joy in helping people plan their financial futures, help meet their goals, and help build lasting legacies. Her favorite task is guiding clients through financial planning, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future.

Outside of work, Ann enjoys relaxing with a good book, playing cards, and organizing game nights with family and friends. An avid sports fan, she follows soccer, football, and tennis closely. Ann also cherishes spending time with her daughter and wonderful son-in-law, making family moments a top priority in her life.

Kathleen has been with the team since 1993. She provides clients with a high level of attention, coordinating new account documentation and account transfers, and performing other administrative services. Having worked in the financial field prior to joining Bender Private Wealth Management, Kathleen has a depth of knowledge of administrative services that is invaluable to the team's wealth management process.

Kathleen and her husband have two children and five grandkids, and they reside in Scranton, PA.

Londyn joined our team in November 2024, making her the newest member of the Bender Private Wealth Management. As a Client Service and Technology Associate, Londyn hopes to help alleviate our clients’ worries and assist in implementing technology to improve our clients’ financial experience. 

Londyn received her Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Statistics. During her time at PSU, Londyn received the W.B. Forest Endowment Award and the K. Mooney Trustee Scholarship for her academic excellence. While at Penn State, Londyn became the Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary of The Traditional Japanese Tea Club.

Outside of work, Londyn spends most of her time with her grandmother. Londyn is a lover of music and enjoys discovering new (and old) artists, attending concerts, and collecting records.
